KANANASKIS & WEST BRAGG CREEK TRAILS

West Bragg Creek is the heart of the local trail system, featuring a well-maintained,
multi-use network designed for year-round access.

POPULAR TRAILS NEAR BRAGG CREEK

Prairie Mountain
A challenging hike with steep elevation gain and 360-degree views from the summit.
Popular year-round for hiking and snowshoeing.

Fullerton Loop
A 6.6 km moderate loop with varied terrain, forest sections, and scenic viewpoints.

Nihahi Ridge
Approximately 10 km, offering open meadows and dramatic alpine ridge views near
Little Elbow Campground.

Powderface Ridge / Powderface Creek
A versatile trail system (up to 14.3 km) near the end of Highway 66, suitable for hiking,
biking, and winter travel.

Elbow Falls Loop
A short, easy, and family-friendly walk to a scenic waterfall.

Moose Mountain Trail
A wide, ~14 km moderate trail with steady elevation gain and sweeping views from the
summit.

HIGHWAY 66 (KANANASKIS TRAIL ACCESS)

Highway 66 (Kananaskis Trail) runs directly from Bragg Creek into Kananaskis Country and provides access to many popular trailheads and scenic stops, including:

  • Forgetmenot Pond
  • Nihahi Ridge
  • Canyon Creek (Ice
  • Cave area, seasonal)
  • Little Elbow Campground

This route is one of the most scenic and accessible gateways into the Canadian Rockies from the Calgary area.

Alberta 66 MTB is a local mountain biking organization connected to the West Bragg
Creek and Highway 66 trail systems. They support and promote mountain biking in the
area through trail stewardship, community events, and rider resources.
